Fix me baby

My arms hurt like hell, my stomache hurts like hell, my chest muscles ache, I feel like I could punch a hole through a wall and I’m half tempted to try. Damn I’ve missed working out like this. Metallica on full blast, adrenaline raging and just letting it rip.

Blogging here is always an amusing experience seeing as I know 99.99% of the people showing up on the site will come here looking for final fantasy music, anime wallpapers or x-box modding tips and tricks and they’ll be going wtf reading my crap on the front page. Move right along using the links at the top folks, don’t mind me.

Anime wallpapers

Anime wallpapers
Ever since the gallery was updated with better session and anti-spam protection all our wallpapers vanished from the search engines, which meant a traffic nosedive of about 3-4000 less unique visitors a day. That’s a lot. Seeing as it hasn’t picked up since and I had a day off to ehm… sort some things out, I decided to finally tackle the problem and whip up a different way of viewing all the wallpapers.
I hope it won’t be too much of a bandwidth drain, mehe.

Anyway, here ya go.

Sometimes

sometimes you’re the windshield
sometimes you’re the bug
sometimes it all comes together
sometimes you’re a fool in love
sometimes you’re the louisville slugger
sometimes you’re the ball
sometimes it all comes together baby
sometimes you’re going to lose it all

WP2.1 & Akismet 2

Just upgraded this blog to the new 2.1 version, and nothing broke. Quite a feat considering the amount of plugins I’m using.
Me happy. Time to play around with all the new stuff.

I’m even happier with the new Akismet plugin, which now enables me to protect our few WordPress MU blogs. Thank you very much Matt.

Such a lovely monday

The telephone system at work decided to croak so it’s a crazy and busy day.
Ah well.

*runs off for more coffee humming Pink Floyd’s Wish you were here*

Coffee time

So much for my plans to post daily or at least every other day or so. It’s funny how life works. Spent the larger part of 2006 preparing things and sorting out various parts of my life in order to kick ass and chew bubblegum in 2007, and here we are. Two weeks into the new year and I can already say that more has happened than in the entire last year. With regard to everything. And we’ve only just begun… next week will bring a whole new world of possibilities.

Now why did I forget to buy new coffee. ¬.¬

Apple 2007

Apple 2007
That’s the picture that has been on the frontpage of Apple.com this year as we waited for today’s big annual speech of Steve Jobs.
And with bold words like that I was expecting something awesome.
What a let down.

A phone & a media portal.

To be more specific; a US only phone and an iTunes frontend (it doesn’t have any added functionality and lacks a tuner) you can hook up to your tv which was already announced last year so technically it doesn’t even count.

Whoop-dee-fucking-doo-da.
No Leopard, no Xserve, no .Mac overhaul, no new plan for the enterprise, nothing.

This round goes to the other side. If, according to the picture up here, that really was the big announcement for this year I know I’ll be playing the rest of the year with new Microsoft and Linux software instead.

Habari

Hmm, didn’t see that one coming, but what a way to start the year.
Apparently a group of people are a bit miffed about the direction WordPress is going and are now working on their own blogging project. What makes it interesting is that it’s not just any random group of people with names like Chris (who’s already running his site on Habari), Khaled & Michael involved.

Theoretically one might argue, as I read somewhere this weekend that it’s impossible for anyone to take on the might of WordPress. Which is why I think it’ll be fun to see Habari launch. Personally I think it has the potential to spread like wildfire. For starters WordPress is starting to smell a little funny recently after some incidents regarding wordpress.com. But more importantly I think the sheer ‘power’ of the people involved will push it. If the code is solid and it looks anything remotely close to the awesome stuff they’ve released in the past for WordPress you can bet your ass people will be switching in the blink of an eye. Gimme a proper converter and I know I will.
It would be awesome if it also had MU functionality out of the box so I could switch that over as well…. because aside from a few volunteers keeping the forum alive MU has had 0 support ever since the 1.0 release.

Time will tell, it’s always nice to see something new.

Work in progress... not home!
Trying to get all/most of the new code working before I start on the eyecandy.
