Movie weekend

An American in Paris
An American in Paris, My neighbour Totoro, Flushed Away, Planet Terror, Ratatouille, Borat – the movie, Death Proof.
A nice random selection of movies we watched. All except for the last one which might possibly be the most boring movie ever made.

New World of Warcraft commercials

Mr T in World of Warcraft
“Well maybe Mr. T hacked the game and created a mohawk class!”
I thought he might be dead or something by now, but nope, and he’s funny as shit in this new World of Warcraft commercial. There’s another one with William Shatner, but who cares.
Go here to check it out.

Oh, and I checked, apparently Mr. T (Laurence Tureaud) is 55 now.

Skype

is now my chat client of choice as it’s the only one able to detect my connection settings, meaning it’s the only one that works through my proxy at work when I’m connected with vpn AND automagically detects when I’m not connected with vpn.
MSN is being weird, I now have Squid (my proxy at work) set to recognize my vpn ipaddress range so I can surf while connected with Firefox but IE7 (and thus msn/live messenger seeing as it uses IE’s connection settings) seems to flat out refuse to do anything. More puzzle work remains.

Remote work

Clean Desk
Meanwhile in the Netherlands Dennis has been busy sorting out my workplace.
Mmmm, shiny. Thanks mate. As well as a big thanks to everyone at work who is and has been supportive both over the past couple of months as well as in our current situation, it’s greatly appreciated.

Vroom

Plane tickets: 1600 euros.
Car rental: 1750 dollars.
Getting pulled over for speeding on the highway by a Real American Cop ™ after only 15 minutes of driving here: priceless.

Ah yeah

I knew I was forgetting something… blogging. Expect a wave of updates starting within a week or so. You know how it goes, the more that happens in life the less time you have for things online. But stick around.
Oh, and for those who know what’s going on; pssht, hold your breath a bit longer. Too many stalkers here. ;)

So what’s everyone else been up to in the mean time? I was sort of hoping to see lots of new posts on the forum. *cough*
Oh oh, I have Leopard up and running on my laptop, I just haven’t had much time to check out the new goodies yet. All I can say thusfar is that binding to a windows domain and connecting with Exchange is as much if not more of a pain in the ass as in Tiger. So it would appear they focused on eyecandy. What else is new…

Edu K – Gatas gatas gatas

Weird shit, no idea what it’s about but this song and several others are featured briefly in the current Sony Ericsson Walkman phone commercials. And it was a paaaaaaain in the ass to figure out. For future reference, in case you’re trying to find a song from a commercial; http://www.songofthesalesman.com

Work in progress... not home!
Trying to get all/most of the new code working before I start on the eyecandy.
