Better late than never, they must have thought over at MTV, as they finally strike back at YouTube and open up a new website dedicated to music videos and related footage. I like, the videos are obviously of higher quality as most of the stuff that’s on the Tube which in the case of most 80’s and 90’s music is most often ripped from ye olde VHS tapes.
I also like because it’s possible to embed the videos on your site. They already have a huge amount of music and they’re adding more each and every day. MTV vs. YouTube…. round 1…. ding!

Bought this last week directly from Faderhead’s website, a bargain at 5.99 euros for a download of the whole album with a pdf of the cover. Excellent value for money and no DRM crap. Now if only someone explained ID3 tags to whomever prepared the files.

The operating system powering the G1, aka the Google Phone, is now available as Open Source. Which deserves a yay because 1) it means that a whole army of people around the world can now start tinkering with it and developing apps, or even modifying the OS, and 2) this should disprove all the tinfoil hats worried about selling their soul to Google. Oh yeah, and it’s linux based.
Now where’s the Yahoo phone?

So today I’ve been looking at the G1, and I love the idea of the thing even if I’m not convinced of the hardware yet. But I started wondering… how much data is all this connectivity going to use? And as such, how much is this going to cost me every month?
