Furthermore I’ve now moved Akismet from mu-plugins to plugins, that might solve the problem with it sucking at spam collection. Also the video plugin we used hadn’t been updated in years, so I’ve ditched that in favor of Viper’s Video Quicktags, which not only works better, it’s a lot more user friendly.

So, want to see how popular your blog is?


1. Go to W3Counter and sign up for a free account, look where it says WordPress code and write it down.
2. Go back to your blog and activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Go to your admin dashboard and click the ‘edit’ link in the Blog Stats box to add your W3Counter website ID and password (provided at signup).
4. If you haven’t already inserted the tracking code in your theme, go to the widgets page and drag the W3Counter Tracker widget onto your sidebar where you want the tracker to appear.

All these themes should support for example the new gallery features and built in gravatar support.

Go and activate the ‘Clean Archives Reloaded’ plugin, then make a new page. For example called ‘Archives’, and in the post add this:

Make sure the editor is in HTML mode and not in Visual mode!
Publish and there you go.

Also the Lightbox plugin has been updated, the new version can be set to automagically generate the correct html for a working lightbox, no more manual html editing needed after adding uploading pictures.

Btw, I’ve stopped adding the main site navigation links (except for pro profile seeing as it’s the one I’m using on the front page) at the top. Yay or nay?

Well, now you can also use Lightbox (the fancy graphic overlays), go to plugins and activate it. after adding, use it by adding rel=’lightbox’ to the end of the img tag of the thumbnail when you upload a piccy.
So, taking humane’s Armani entry as an example, the code for that is:

I’ve now turned it into a widget so you can add it to your blog if you want.
Go to Plugins and activate the “X111.com’s latest blogs” plugin, then go to Presentation>Widgets and drag the widget onto your sidebar. Save, and you’re done.
I might tweak it some more over the next days to make it look better on more themes, but so far so good.
