Most haven’t been posted on since the dawn of the internet, so unless you reply here it WILL be deleted whenever I get around to it.

I’ve updated the blogs to version 2.8.2 of WordPress MU a while back. Haven’t heard any complaints so I’m guessing all went well. :D

WordPress MU 2.7.1

The blogs have been upgraded today to WP MU 2.7.1, look here for a list of changes. Everything seems to have gone smoothly and ready for the imminent release of BuddyPress 1.0 which will bring a whole new batch of options and settings to transform the blogs into a ’social network platform’. Superlatives aside it does look like fun.

to WordPress MU 2.6.1. Furthermore I’ve now moved Akismet from mu-plugins to plugins, that might solve the problem with it sucking at spam collection. Also the video plugin we used hadn’t been updated in years, so I’ve ditched that in favor of Viper’s Video Quicktags, which not only works better, it’s a lot more user friendly.

So, want to see how popular your blog is?

1. Go to W3Counter and sign up for a free account, look where it says WordPress code and write it down.
2. Go back to your blog and activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Go to your admin dashboard and click the ‘edit’ link in the Blog Stats box to add your W3Counter website ID and password (provided at signup).
4. If you haven’t already inserted the tracking code in your theme, go to the widgets page and drag the W3Counter Tracker widget onto your sidebar where you want the tracker to appear.

Hot on the heels of the update are 9 new themes, I strongly suggest having a look at them because some of you (*eyes littlemog*) are using horribly outdated themes that don’t use all of the functionality available in the newer versions of WordPress. All these themes should support for example the new gallery features and built in gravatar support.

Upgrade to MU version 2.6 complete

Archives plugin

Want an archives page like me?
Go and activate the ‘Clean Archives Reloaded’ plugin, then make a new page. For example called ‘Archives’, and in the post add this:
[cleanarchivesreloaded]
Make sure the editor is in HTML mode and not in Visual mode!
Publish and there you go.

(Under Settings there are some more options to play with)

Autumn concept, Natural Power, Ocean Mist & Pro Profile.
Also the Lightbox plugin has been updated, the new version can be set to automagically generate the correct html for a working lightbox, no more manual html editing needed after adding uploading pictures.

Btw, I’ve stopped adding the main site navigation links (except for pro profile seeing as it’s the one I’m using on the front page) at the top. Yay or nay?
