Itazura na Kiss

xD like my drawing? <(oo^) i even recreated the logo <3! Pen tool ftw!
I actually like this anime. Reminds me a bit of Chiaki and Nodame from Nodame Cantabile, Naoki doesn’t like showing any of his emotions and says cold things (in a tough love tone) making him an asshat. But… i want to make it clear, he does not hate her, is not hurting, or abusing her… etc! He may not give Kotoko the same love she gives him, but he has his own way of showing it and you see it in episodes 13-14, you also see how he was shocked and how his heart sank for a split second when he hurd Kin had proposed to her. He didn’t want to lose her and proposed that night. In episode 7, Kotoko said that she would give up, and forget him, and then you see his face twitch. Clearly something had hit him, but he didn’t want her to go, so in his own way to keep her around, was to kiss her, knowing she just couldn’t give up on him. In various episodes he is some what nice to her and tells her “Just be you” or something like that among the lines, and then gives a small smirky smile. Naoki did say to Kin “A person can change and can learn to love someone”. I think he meant it. So more and more as i watch this show, i can see him changing, he cares for her. He may not show it and and dishes out tough love, but he does love her. Compared to other animes with love stories, i actually like these type of stories, where the jerk in the end finally shows that they really love this nagging weird person who won’t leave them the hell alone. Makes boring everyday life more interesting, filled with all sorts of antics and drama.
I will recommend this anime to those who likes a different kind of love story for a change. Stories where cold people change and grow to love someone.
Also, i’m not going to debate this, this is just my views on this, and of course i’ve seen alot of these types of stories and there is always has a happy ending, unless someone who grew to love that one person died, but usually, gives that character a new grip on life and not be such a jerk. Anyways i just wanted to share my thoughts and views on it.
Heres a link to the 1996 drama version:

Otaku No Video
June 16th, 2008. Published under Anime. No Comments.

Otaku no Video is a comedy anime spoofing the life and culture of otaku, or Japanese media fans, as well as the history of Gainax, its creators. It is noted for its mix of conventional documentary film styles (with actual film, no less), with a more traditional anime storytelling fashion. It is licensed in the United States by AnimEigo.
Plot Summary: A normal man who slowly slips in to the life of being an otaku and never returns. XD..
I thought this was very good.. Showing the true colors of real otaku. Not all otakus are like that, but pretty much, most of them are… All i have to say is…”We are a sick bunch indeed…”
xD.. I love how Sato cosplayed as Lum! (from Urusei Yatsura!!).. I was going all dork mode and going “Shes cosplaying Lum! Yay Lum! *bounce bounce bounce*” XD;;..
