Needing a Hand
As I’ve said, I’ve never had surgery before. The only time I’ve had my abilities compromised was when I had ankle injuries which were mostly remedied with a neoprene wrap which enabled me to walk.
However, the location of my staples being where they are, it is often a chore to get up from a standing or laying position, and I have to call for help in the morning when I wake up. I feel ridiculous for it. Walking around, you see, is perfectly fine, and I would rather be walking than sitting, but pfft.
I’m not supposed to lift anything that is over ten pounds [isn't that the weight limit for pregnancy, too?], make any sudden movements, and I’m really not even supposed to laugh hard.
I’ve been trying to tidy up my room, but I realized that I can’t vacuum unless I have my mother or father carry it down for me because I can’t.
I feel helpless and I really, really do not like it. I know there’s nothing wrong with needing a little help, as everyone does at some point, but when some doors in my own home are causing issues for me, it’s ridiculous.
15 lbs for pregnant women, especially in their tender first trimester. I can imagine with stomach staples it’s not fun at all that you can’t move about freely and carry whatever you want.
My first trimester, I got plenty of rest and wasn’t allowed to carry anything (not really doctor’s orders, just Dr. X’s) because I had a miscarriage before. Then by doctor’s orders I had bed rest my near entire last trimester because of high blood pressure. It’s not too much fun just doing.. well nothing. Especially when you want to do housework. It gets boring. A DS remedies that a bit but that only goes so far.
*pats back* Don’t worry, only a week more or so of staples then you can go somewhat back to normal. :)
To be a burden or troubling others is something, those that are humane, bit uncomfortable and embarrassing. But no biggy ( ^^)>
You got some heavy doors in ye house then o_o
Apparently I’m almost not supposed to sleep on my side…I didn’t know that, my surgeon must’ve told my mom while I wasn’t all there. x_x I can’t fall asleep just lying on my back though.
Mehe, Dr. X. :]
I do have some oddly heavy doors in here! I don’t really get it. x_x And the door on the refrigerator is especially heavy. o_O;
Hehe, just on back is hard to fall asleep. I need to twist and turn and sort of spoonish, I guess o_o
Fort Knox Fridge o_o
Actually, I usually lie prone to fall asleep and wake on my side…but that is obviously out of the question.
