Waikiki truly is a place in Hawaii! Alas we find the answer and X and Corvo were right last night. Damn it. Twas a very good guess, X and Corvo. 
However, I don’t think my unawareness of such a small place in such a small state has anything to do with American stupidity. In all fairness the Netherlands is such a tiny country and yet most won’t be able to name all the nearby villages or pin point on a map where such and such a place is or even if it exists.

There’s also insult arm wrestling in Monkey Island 4, which is unfortunately non-awesome. The shift to 3D worked for Grim Fandango, but not so well for MI4.
Anyway, I know someone at uni who hates America, just to jump on the bandwagon. She wanted to animate the pearl harbour thing to Green Day’s American Idiot (but it wouldn’t have been in the assignment brief). Blah.
Edit: Blah to her planning to do it. Not blah to that she couldn’t =P

o.o Even i a southern-tomboy-countrybumpkin knew about Waikiki and that its in Hawaii.. xD.. then again.. i watch alot of discover channels, one being the Travel channel, where i have hurd of Waikiki and i hear about it alot. *soaks up useless info like a mop XD*
o.o I have hurd of that rubber and glue thing before but along the lines of:

Damn you, Waikiki.
I’ve played Monkey Island before a couple years ago on the PC, I didn’t exactly finish it. I only got to the part where I am supposed to hire pirates to join me or something like that. O.o Then I never bothered again because Tomb Raider Legend came to the PC! Really awesome!
But too short.
I think it’s a trend to hate America. Not only among other countries but America itself. It’s like hating a band because they sold out. xD Wonder how long the trend will last?

My dad used to live in Waikiki…he was an army brat, growing up, he’s lived lotsa places.
True story, though [on the hatred]. A friend of mine’s ex-girlfriend is supposedly half italian, and she was randomly giving him hell for something, and she was like, “What are you, American? The world hates you, lol!”
–well, like an individual high school student is responsible for the ills caused by the US, like he cares, and uh, she was born in the US, making her American. Just because her mom hails from Italy doesn’t save her.
I do think it is a trend though, I mean, come on, when teenagers start incorporating it into breakup arguments? Yeah.
