Chocolate goodness!
Finally, after getting over the Christmas chocolate-shock, I felt able to do some chocolate again – it’s been quite a while since the last testing if I remember correctly. So for today’s chocolate test, I chose two chocolates, which have been presents from my roommate Kira and I had promised her to write about them here in my Blog. So here we go

Name: Heinemann – Pfeffer-Orange
Chocolate-type: whole milk chocolate with orange and green pepper
Taste: This chocolate tastes pretty strong like oranges from the beginning on (and even smells a bit like them
), which goes really well with the soft full milk chocolate. The thing is, I didn’t really like the pepper in it. While the implementation through peppercorns is a good one and the amount of pepper is also about right, I’m just not convinced that it really fits into the mix with the oranges and the taste of the full milk chocolate. So, despite of its good quality overall, I can only rate it with a 7 out of 10 points.
The second one:

Name: Läderach – Edelbitterschokolade mit Chili
Chocolate-type: dark chocolate (60% cocoa) with chili
Taste: After a glass of water to clear my taste buds for a new impression, I tried this chocolate. The dark chocolate tasted really well, but I was surprised, how little I detected of the chili in the flavour. It was just after swallowing it, that I noticed a soft burning in my throat to reveal the chili in the end. It was still less hot than the green pepper in the above chocolate, but that made for a really pleasant heat in my faucal. The only thing that’s missing, is some different sensation apart from the dark chocolate when having it in your mouth. Overall a good 8 out of 10 I’d say
Thanks for reading!
it is an honor for me.
and btw: I like the enormous faked orange on the first pic.

Mmm, chilli chocolate. I find it quite difficult to find a brand that manages to balance the chocolate not being too dark, and the chilli not being too strong. Lindts is the only good one I’ve found so far. I love orange chocolate as well, provided it’s not too dark and bitter. Lindts wins there as well, haha.
A mate of mine got me white chocolate, ginger and chilli from Montezuma’s which was… er, an aquired taste. I managed to trick half my office into trying some =P It had chunks of chilli in it, so you’d be like “ok this is fine… AH AH AH OH GOD IT BURNS”

Hehe, that sounds like a great chocolate!
But I have to admit, I’m also not really sold on white chocolate with chili. Something there just says ‘no’ to me ^^”
