Today I’ll summarize most of the day, as there wasn’t that much to tell. We got up late, ate lunch went to the Okayama library and spent some time there, because the weather was bad anyway. The interesting part comes now. On our way back from the library, we saw the so called ‘Romantic Walk’. Have a look for yourself first:
The ‘Romantic Walk’ appears to be a pavement, with a quite traffic-heavy road on one side and shopping temple after shopping temple on the other side. All of this decorated with pink lights in the trees. Now maybe I’m a little bit old-fashioned and maybe it looks really awesome when the trees blossom, but I didn’t understand the romantic aspect in traffic noise and shopping windows at all. I’d actually say, that there are far more romantic places in Okayama that I’ve already seen. Nozomi also didn’t know what was romantic about this place, so it doesn’t neccessarily has to be a cultural thing… opinions?
As Nozomi was going to a matchmaking party which was organised by one of her supervisors, we split up on the way back home and I decided to go and eat some dinner before I return. My eye was caught by a ramen-shop, that we had seen on our way into the city earlier and I decided to go there.

Inside it was pretty noisy. The cooks and waiters shouting to each other and the kitchen itself was also pretty loud. But that was more or less expected… although maybe not thaaat loud ^^” I have to admit, I not sure what I ordered there, but in the end it looked quite good and tasted really good. It had noodles, vegetables and a slice of meat, so I also moved around the seafood with my order
Inside I also met this japanese girl called Yumi, whom I asked to make a photo of me and my food – as this seems to be what some people want as a motive
Despite the noise we also talked about where I’m from and stuff. I found out, that she was working at the hospital in Okayama as a dietitian and that she has lived in Okayama her whole life. It was quite nice to talk to her, but the noise wasn’t really beneficial to the conversation. Still, more talking in Japanese! Good thing
Oh and of course, the photo:
Until next time
