The Yasaka Pagoda stands watch over the many roofs of the area between the eastern mountain and the fabled Gion district, where the Geisha traditions may still be seen if one is lucky or has the neccessary coin to spare. The narrow streets down there still ooze a certain atmosphere of an older Japan.
