Mog and Chips

Wheeeeeee. Took the dog out in it but was kinda disappointing really.

I came home yesterday to visit (for reading week). It took me 3 hours. As well as £10 more than it should have done because some asshat couldn’t understand what “not via london” meant. Apparently I don’t look capable of using a ticket machine myself so a bored security officer had to jump in and use it excruciatingly slowly and making me late for the train I was 10 minutes early for ^_^

New house is brilliant, but really, really cold. I’m usually sitting at comp with duvet wrapped around me (and got called harry potter for wearing my dressing gown over my clothes ¬_¬ which my housemate then did as well anyway)

Speaking of comp, just got broadband! Just waiting for the landlord to bring a router or I’ll have to keep carrying my entire comp downstairs to the modem (and I’m not leaving it down there overnight).

Our landlord’s nuts. In a good way. He’s insanely generous. I swear he’s not for real! He’s paying for the broadband, sky tv, and wireless recievers for all our tvs. He’s buying half a flat with him mate, for his mate to live in, because his mate doesn’t earn a lot. Thats so… nice I didn’t think it was possible. I mean, it’s an investment for him obviously but I didn’t think it was actually possible to be rich (he owns several properties) and generous at the same time, I thought you were like, one or the other =P . It’s actually kinda reassuring.

Other than being good for us. I feel really bad, I need to tell him I’ll go without a reciever cos quite frankly, I don’t watch tv that often and he’s buying so much stuff for us worth several months rent - it is to get more people in the house (2 rooms still empty) but at the same time it’s… wow.

I handed my stuff in, passed 3 things and waiting for 2. I did… really quite badly. It doesn’t help when they give you moving targets (”OMG don’t make it over 1 minute, I’ll make you cut it down!” come feedback, everyone that got 70%+ was… 2 minutes or over. You have no idea how hard it is to cut some storylines down to one minute and still make them comprehensible. Same with the “oh we won’t mark you on sound!” they told us.)

I understand completely if I have to redo the essay (I got cocky cos of film studies last year “oh it’ll only take 2 hours!” … 5 hours later and not even reading over it til just before handing in, and scribbling out stuff in pencil! )  but it’ll just be embaressing to fail digital skills… tutor didn’t turn up half the time, so the pass mark is 20% =P

But yeah, kick up the arse really. Hopefully I’ll attend more (if not, it’s my cooking giving me food poisoning, not the cockroaches =P) and do more now they’ve actually shown us (y’know, in the second semester instead of for the first courseworks) what we need.
At least first year doesn’t go towards final grade. I don’t care about retaking stuff in the first year, it’s only that they send letters home as well as to your student address… I’ll get a very angry phone call at best, and pulled out of uni at worst -_-

For some reason, being at home makes me feel lazy. When I was at my student house (not the roach flat) I had motivation but here… O.o
