I need to get my sleep cycle back into action… at the moment my typical waking hours are midday to 2am, which isn’t much good for college.
The rest of my group’s skiiving off tomorrow, so no point me going in. Which is good, because once they told me, I didn’t do any more work! =P
Somehow me and Sarah have got to record a lipsync thing. Thing being, the sound technician at our college “doesn’t exist”. Well, he’s never there; apparently he’s suing for descrimination so he’s not teaching or technician-ing or anything.
But our lecturer (who’s usually pretty cool) was like “…er… then… erm…” and just kinda left it without giving us any ideas so… We need it for friday anyway, so probably really bad quality on my mate’s mic (saying that, no idea what it’s like, but she’s not into sound design so…)
Finally some action in the RP section, has me feeling quite creative again even though it hasn’t actually started yet =P . The only problem with my animation course is everything has to be like, 1 minute long, so you can’t get a lot of character depth and whatnot, or even that much happening, which I miss from writing. Maybe I should start writing stories and stuff again… as a hobby just to keep the creativity flowing, kinda thing. I always find it easier to design/draw a character with a big backstory and know them like the back of my hand, instead of “Snap, character in 5 minutes, draw some poses, ok, new character now!” Which is fine for technical purposes but I’m not really used to. Guess I’ll have to, be a good few years before I have any control over that kinda thing in the industry, if I ever get that far.
I think bad sleep and bad diet are giving me mood swings. I felt really… “mleh” and self consious this morning and late last night. I’ve actually had a proper meal for the first time since friday, but found out that if I drink and eat at the same time, I’m more likely to get shakey when I’m still eating, which apparently (mmm, google sources) has something to do with the stomach passing on food while you’re still eating. Might just be coincidence, so we’ll see. It beats having low blood sugar anyway, and the symptoms don’t quite match, since an hour or so needs to pass after eating before you’re all ‘blugh’.
On a completely unrelated side note; I’ve never been able to grasp other languages. I dunno what made me think about it, but I actually know quite a few people (quite a few people on forums included) that can speak 2 or more languages completely fluently, which is completely out of my grasp.
A while back I asked my mate (who can speak fluently some form of arabic) what language she ‘thinks’ in; she says she thinks in both and it depends who she’s talking to or thinking about (probably mostly english now, since she doesn’t have much to do with her family anymore). But that’s just like “…whoa” I can’t even comprehend being able to have another language come that naturally, the only thing I remember from French lessons was “Bonjour” and “Je nais comprend pas” (I do not understand =P).
So yeah, it’s just like… really cool. I remember her being on the phone to her rents and I was like “She’s speaking in arabic but laughing in Englis- …wait, that makes no sense O.o” Or hearing names/places in a perfect English accent, right in the middle of an arabic sentence.
I don’t want to sleep now. There was something else I was going to ramble about, but I can’t remember. But I keep forgetting how different it is being with mates at home as from uni; like, everyone on my uni course is interested in animation (well… yeah) so we can talk about Disney and Don Bluth until the cows come home, and we’ll sit there trying to get the songs from movies into each others heads (the villain songs are always the catchiest! ) and then you go home and it’s like… no-one cares. And no-one actually remembers the songs; my mate said “I want a birthday on a day other than my birthday” So of course I burst out with “A VERY merry unbirthday, to YOU!” (Alice in Wonderland) and they’re just like “…wtf?”
Of course we’re all acting like big kids. We’re animators! (To be)

My brain seems to randomly switch between languages when I’m thinking. It’s not until for example people start talking to me in dutch, english and a local dialect at the same time that sometimes my universal language translator starts having a few glitches every now and again.

No, you can’t talk, you trekkie =P Besides, it could just be a translator that happens to be universal, you’re the one that linked it to Star Trek.
Again, you Trekkie =P
