And… somewhat spiffing. Hopefully my enrolment’s gone through ok so my loan will be ok, and instead of giving us a timetable they’ve put a teeny tiny sign up saying “go online to get it” so half the people aren’t turning up tomorrow. Oh, and we got a letter saying we started at 10, when actually we were meant to be in at half 9. …Which is good, because I missed my train and got in half 10, and nobody noticed =P
But the lessons. We started our Softimage XSI brief today and we’re actually. getting. taught. Hurrah! Albeit only 10 seconds of animation to pass, but I’ve already got an idea that might need an extra 5 anyway.
We’re also learning Adobe After Effects (which was used to create Franz Ferdinands “Take me out” video if anyone cares), which looks rather intimidating because we’ve been shown animation award stuff rather than student work. (The XSI stuff looks a doddle, but I don’t know the particulars.)
And we have lectures about the industry, how it all works etc which is exactly what I was fretting over about not knowing.
This year is going to be so much better than last year!
Now I must play on Softimage, and storyboard and designs and… find a sketchbook, now all the shops are closed and I don’t have the energy to get to Tescos. It’s been a long day, and had hunger cramps through half of it.
Oh, also I added an “Artsy Fartsy” page for WIPs and stuff I did a while back that isn’t gallery standard, but I’m still proud of nevertheless.
Edit: Oh! And my allergic friend isn’t actually allergic anymore (she said way back when that the docs thought her sudden intolerance to everything was due to stress, not ‘born-with’ allergies.) So no worrying about the vegan chocolateness. Although I have warned her if she dies of chocolate-poisoning, I’m not carrying her down all the stairs =P
But if intolerances can come and go, perhaps explains why milk sometimes gives me cramps, and other times I’m fine?

Didn’t know that Adobe After Effects was used to do the take me out video, I haven’t used it myself and I wont this year me thinks (seeing as where using Final Cut Pro and the most shameful Windows Movie Maker -_-) but from what I’ve heard/read its a really good program to have.
Looks like its all going well =]

Oh no, you’re not using Windows Movie maker! ACH!
I suppose it’s a different case for film editing since you don’t need layers like animation, but you’re gonna have to do frame-by-frame special effects if you wanted them and they’re not already in the package.
