How rude!

So, I’ve been lurking around on the Sapphire forums to try and find a compromise to my situation (my PSU doesn’t have enough amps to sufficiently power my graphics card, and therefore it’s crashing and burning on new shiny games and PS2 emulators)

Now I’ve been looking into getting a new PSU and an ATI graphics card, primarily because ATI seems slightly cheaper than the nVidia equivilent. But then, lo and behold, the one I’m looking at (the 3850) has a simple bios problem - they forgot to add “increase fan speed when temparature is high.”

So, regardless of what PSU you have, you have a faulty product, and if you try and remedy it (say, with ATI tools for fan speed) you void your warranty.

Sapphire’s apparently done some new BIOS’s that you can download, but only for certain Serial Number card. So you’re not guarenteed a solution if you buy, though its a step in the right direction.

Then I scroll down the forum list. And find this.

 ”Due to too many people complaining, acting like tools/retards, being abusive and suchlike, I have now decided NOT to pass out any more BIOS files for the HD3xxx series cards as it’s quite obvious that the service isn’t appreciated and we’re just wasting our time offering our help over the matter.

You can all thank users like Strife.au and several others for it”

Excuse me?!

This is obviously a staff member, having access to the bios in order to hand it out in the first place, and seems to act the moderator there.

You are a business! Moreover, you are a business with a faulty product! You do NOT deny the fix to your product to the majority because a couple of people didn’t appreciate it.

Congratulations, Sapphire! Your lack of simple manners and business sense have lost you a customer (not that I’m sure one makes a big difference), regardless of the £20 difference in price between this and the nVidia equivalent.

Moreover, just because I’m feeling so very angsty and activisty, I may well write some scathing email to the company to show them how much damage is being done, which may well be ignored but it’ll make me feel better =P

Good grief. I’d get butchered if I did that to people at work.

On a side note, I made a souffle yesterday! Took a Ramsay remedy but put in milk chocolate instead of plain, icky bitter chocolate. So the flavour wasn’t as strong as it could be. And I mustn’t have mixed the egg enough because it tasted like chocolate omelette at the bottom =P But the top 50% of the souffle was good!
