I’ve had my love of the Sims 2 refreshed and recently I re-installed it (along with a couple of the expansions) onto my laptop (where it was before). After spending a couple of days downloading some custom content that I used to have I finally got around to starting to re-build my Sims lives.

So I load it up and wait. And wait. And wait some more. Then after about 20 minutes I conclude that it crashed. Restart and try again… locks on the same loading screen again. So I experiment by removing all of the custom content downloaded and trying it again. This time it gets past the loading screen and locks on the Town loading screen. I’ve tried to re-install it again and it still keeps happening so I’m not sure what’s going wrong with it this time. The only problem is that I’m really looking forward to getting the new expansion Pets for Christmas and it doesn’t look like I’ll get to play it I also tried installing it on my PC instead but because of the Directx9 issue (it doesn’t like authentic copies of Windows…) I can’t get it to even install yet alone run.

So what else have I been getting on with? I’m still playing FFXI even though I pretty much announced I’d be leaving by the end of the year. This is probably be because Garr still plays and if I quit then that means I’d see less of Garr. Isn’t that sad? I’ve also been getting back into playing Archlord (the controls still annoy me…). My character is now level 10 but I’m getting into a real sticky mess now. New weapon isn’t until 11 (still using level 1) and new amour isn’t until 12 (still using level 2), I can’t complete the quests I have because the things I need to defeat are by far too hard for me to beat and you don’t get a lot of exp just from defeating enemies. Grrrrrargh. This means spending a lot of time killing something, waiting about 10 minutes for you get full health and mp, kill something else, wait again… *sigh*

Christmas in… 4 days!
