A FFXI Moan

I know you wont care, but this just annoyed me so much…

Was on FFXI earlier and was helping a linkshell buddy, Rutteger, finish off getting his Rank 5 mission completed. Kicked arse in Castle Oztroja and then teleported over to the next area we needed Beadeaux. We find the Notorious Monster we need in Beadeaux pretty quickly and slaughter him gracefully. Then we think it would be a good idea to camp another NM that appears near our location. We head over to the spawn point, fighting all of the Quaduv on our way (note: these babies were a little tough at our level) to force this bad boy to spawn. After spending about an hour there we just finish off another Quaduv and I notice that the NM has spawned. I point him out to the gang and then rest to recover my MP (since this guy is like… slightly higher level than us). So Rutteger and Garr run over to find him while I’m resting and wham bam, some guy comes out of nowhere and claims our treasure. Level 75 Japanese red mage TaruTaru with no linkpearl and with /anon status. Takes him about 10 minutes to kill the NM. Obvious he was getting the drop we were after (for Rutteger) to sell. Greedy little Taru. So grumbling we teleport back out of the zone and I find out that actually the NM spawns on the hour, every hour. Surely enough, I check to see where that Taru bitch is and he’s logged out. Typical. I’m totally betting on him just logging in every hour to get the claim.

Call me judgmental, but I’m also thinking he was a Gil Seller or a Botter (or both) which makes my blood boil even more.

Muuu, they should implement a better system…
Like in some MMOs only one party in “their own” dungeon. Others in their own “instance”.

Well, a part of me is in favour of implementing individual dungeons, like on Guild Wars just for example.

But then a part of me also thinks, well what about when that guy helped/saved you? What’s going to happen if you start getting ass-raped by some mob?

I don’t like the competition so much, but I do like the company and hopefully helpful people if need be.

Don’t expect too much and appreciate what you get or have? D:

And I always enter hard dungeons with someone experienced? :X

People helping on WoW is very rare *laughs* but I know from experience that there are some nice people on FFXI who are always on the look out to help people out.
