Meet Haluna, she is my new Nabaztag assistant!

An early Birthday present from Garr, she sits at the side of my computer and by running from my wireless internet connection she keeps me informed of a lot of things! Weather, news, RSS sites, when I receive emails… and when she’s not giving me useful information she happily sits and sings or plays songs to herself or even does some Tai-Chi. She also reads out any messages, sounds or music that my friends send me!

It’s been a while since I last posted, hasn’t it? This new job of mine is time consuming, to say the least, yet I’ve only been there a little over a month. This week will be my last week of my ‘training period’ which I’ve been crawling my way through since back in June before I start working actual shifts on my own. The verdict so far? I’m not looking forward to it. This is definitely not the type of work I want to be doing… yet at the moment I don’t have much choice but to grit my teeth and carry on. Maybe it will start getting easier once I start working the actual shifts which works out around 30 hours a week rather than the 42 I’m doing now. Time well tell, I guess.

Which brings me on to the next thing. In a couple of weeks time I’ll turn 21 which would usually be a happy thing for me (since I get over-excited about these kind of things) but I find that most of the time I’m in a more disappointed mood. Most people that I knew from school are either married, half way through university or have their own place at least, but yet I feel like I’m still on the bottom step of that ladder of life and I haven’t accomplished anything. Garr was made redundant from work the other week, so it looks like it will now take us longer before we have enough saved for our own house. I guess all I can do is carry on existing in this attic and try to chip away at some sort of path out of it. I have a lot of hope for the future but it’s the bit in the middle I need to figure out first.

Ok, I have a WordPress question…

If I wanted to create an RSS feed on my widgets, how would I do it? I’ve been trying to do it on Garr’s site so I can have the latest blog entries shown on the ‘front page’ blog using the feeds. I noticed that on the blogs, they all have an RSS Entries link but when I try different variations of the link on an RSS widget nothing will appear. Yet, I notice over here they do. Is it something you have to have set up on the website to have it working?

There are no chairs on Final Fantasy XI. How is it people can pay thousands for something like a tea set but yet there are no chairs. Weird…

I spent a good 2 hours with the group trying to get my AF hat for White Mage. I’d say it looks cute on my little Mithra, but at the same time I can’t help wondering why it looks so much like a condom.

I had a nice big post lined up ready to publish and then firefox decided to crash on me and took the post with it (thanks for that).

Basically, I don’t have a lot of anything to report about that anyone would care about whatsoever. But I do (now) have a job. Well, I was offered it like a fortnight ago but since nobody asked I didn’t tell anyone :p It’s not a great job but it still pays and it seems to be a nice, young environment to work in so I’m looking forward to starting next month. Of course, in all honesty, I’m looking forward to getting paid more because I have a ton of debts on my back from when I lost my job at Christmas.

I just activated my Skype phone account again, so if anyone would like to call me up on their Skype my contact name is ‘strawberryink’ >_>

I still have the phone number if anyone wanted to call me using a normal phone or mobile (if they don’t have Skype) but I’d rather people ask me for it rather than just posting it on here. So, if you want it just ask.

Garr bought me ‘Cooking Mama’ for the DS on Saturday. I love it. The last time I saw it was on the play-asia.com website and was only available as the Japanese version. I thought it wouldn’t be brought over to the US or Europe so it was a bit of lost love. But then, the other day, I was sat watching cartoons (hee) and it was advertised! So I just had to get it ^^ Really enjoy it, unless Mama shouts at me for messing up XD

I knew I’d end up getting some spam comments, but I’ve deleted like 3 of them in the space of like… 3 hours. All seems to be on the same entry and each spam comment just contains a bunch of porn links. I’m not quite sure how WoW would relate to child porn, though.

Here’s some old photos that were taken of some food dishes, ala Commsie-esque.

First off we’ve got a large stuffed mushroom which contains… herbs, garlic and cheese, grilled chicken fillets and some ciabatta bread. I wanted to start making a few more things for Garr and stuffed mushrooms sounded like a good dish The one I used was a portabellow mushroom, but I’ve found that using breakfast and monster mushrooms make a bigger dish.

And then next up a lovely Chinese meal Egg fried rice, chicken and mushroom with noodles and some little tasters… prawn toast, vegetable spring rolls, won tons and some prawn crackers :3

I’m pretty annoyed with my new computer right now and multiply that with boredom equals this blog entry.

So… the whole point that Garr bought me this new computer was so that I could start installing things on it (since my old one wasn’t running off a verified copy of Windows, hence didn’t like me trying to install new games) so now it’s got FFXI back on it and Sims 2, which I haven’t really had much chance of playing. The other day I just went into town with my pal, Amy, and then back to her place where she showed me a few things that she was up to on her copy of the Sims 2. Obviously, after watching Amy’s shenanigans I wanted to get home and start playing too (since I’m just a build/decorating-holic). Spent the past 2 days on-and-off building a new fancy house for mine and Garr’s characters. Then I got bored and created a random Romance sim so I could have some fun… took 10 minutes to decorate the house… 10 minutes into playing the game crashed. The reason? Apparently the 700-odd MB Ram isn’t enough and I need to get some more for it.

So, to sum up. I can create new characters, build and decorate but it wont let me actually play the game. Great. I love my new computer.

I’ve been experimenting with some food for Garr (because my diet consists of… potatoes) and I took some Commsie-esque photos which I’ll probably post up when I can be bothered to upload them.

Because I’m bored but avoiding sleep
