Today I got to visit the dentist. It was not fun.

See, first off, I’m still using a pediatric dentist. I get the weirdest looks from parents whenever I walk in, they’re all staring at me, and I can almost feel their urge to draw their children closer. Their elementary school age children. Maybe I’m just imagining things, but it always makes me feel awkward to be like, 10 years older than all the other patients in the waiting room.
On top of that, when I do go in, they always put me in another room, because there’re “no empty chairs” in the main room. I sound paranoid now, but I mean, it’s seriously whacked to be going to a children’s dentistry, even if they do still accept me, it’s just…not right. Just not right

Plus it doesn’t help that dentistry in general sucks. They go in, pick away at your teeth real fast, jab you a couple times in the gum with their little fishing hooks, and then…the brushing, the vicious little powered brush. First off, the toothpaste sucks. It’s this really gritty stuff, and it tastes horrible, they’re all these sickening fruity flavours and mint and chocolate I think. And they go at it, and just the sensation of all that gritty nasty toothpaste getting ground into every crack and orifice, and then they never give you enough water. I mean, what the hell, you’re getting payed to clean my teeth, not leave all this nasty shit in my mouth, at least give me some more water g’dammit. Let me rinse it out, yes it’s still there, that’s why I’m grimacing.

EDIT: err, yeah, i still go because this was probably my last visit, and my parents didn’t want me to switch before because it would be complicated for my sis and I going different ones, yaddaa. But …that’s not a good reason ^^
