We all know case modding, console modding and chip modding, now here’s something new… Ikea hacking or modding;
Ikea Hacker.
A whole website dedicated to chopping Ikea bits of furniture, modifying them and using them in whole new ways. Some things look a bit iffy, but there’s a lot of nice tweaks in there and some pretty creative applications.

So yeah, another bad case of ‘life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans’. So all my plans around here are put on hold for a bit as we focus on more immediate concerns.
But the news website was coming along nicely until I hit some UTF-8 snags which I haven’t had time to fix yet. Surprisingly the whole thing is already getting more traffic than expected without an official launch, so yay for that.
Ah yeah, and I still have to put the winning banner up on the forum. Soon.

Insane. I’d never heard of that before this weekend when Corvo showed us the entire Portal game. I log on to my gmail this morning and the first thing I see is “The cake is a lie”.
They’re after us!

Weekend plans?

Looking outside I think this is going to be an indoor weekend. It’s raining quite badly.
I’m looking forward to some chill time, messing with Yichi’s gorgeous V5 theme which I hope to adapt as my own, and update with templates for the new WordPress gallery code. Next to that maybe look at some Beijing Olympics stuff in the background on tv.
It’s been one hell of a week. Rather meh busy at work. We finally did get the Armani prizes from the design contest, definitely the highlight of the week seeing as we had pretty much given up hope on ever getting them.
Oh yeah, and I still need to make an entry or two for the banner competition on the forum.

New research seems to indicate that drinking coffee helps your skin bounce back better healing cells that have been damaged by the sunlight.
One more reason why drinking coffee is good. As if we needed another excuse.
