I like draft posts

I like draft posts so much I’m using my own plugin to give me an overview of all of them on the WordPress dashboard seeing as the default view only shows the 5 most recent ones.
My pile of draft posts seems to be getting bigger. It’s just nice to be able to draft an idea, do a little searching, add some links, sit on it for a while, formulate a paragraph here and there, and take your sweet time before getting it to the state where you like to hit publish. For some posts anyway, others (like this one) are obviously just fire and forget.

testing status messages, say hi in the comments if you like. :)

Survival of the fittest?

One of my fishtanks uses a standard mechanical filter, meaning water gets sucked in through a propellor, it moves through a chamber containing a sponge and gets blown out through small holes.
I also have guppies in the tank, who as you may know, breed like bunnies.
Every time there’s a new batch of fry popping out it now seems that pretty much the only survivors are the small fry that are dumb enough to swim near the intake of the filter, get sucked in and avoid getting chopped to pieces by the propellor. They survive in the chamber that contains the filter.
The other fry in the tank usually get eaten.
So as far as my little 54 liter corner of the animal kingdom goes; evolution favors the lucky and the dumb, the strong and fit get eaten.

Celestial Dawn

Weird how that works. I have a guild. And quite an active one. With nice people. And totally by accident.
Kate rerolled on a new server, started levelling, I rerolled there as well, she joined a guild, they seemed nice, I joined, so far so good.
I rolled a bank alt and someone was selling their guild with 4 bank tabs for 150G, so I bought it. Turns out it was already level 3. Nice.
Then someone discovered the guild master and some officers were systematically taking out all the guild money for themselves instead of using it to further the guild.
Not so cool. Kate left and asked to join my bank guild, and before I knew it one after the other left and joined us. So now we’ve got our own guild, advanced to level 4 in just a couple of days and are well underway.
Yay for the many rollercoaster rides of life. Don’t particularly like the downs, but the random turns and ups can be fun.
As for the guild name, I didn’t bother to change it after I bought and everyone seems to like it, so Celestial Dawn ftw!

The end of the world

It’s the end of the world! Well, sorta, 5 minutes later it seemed to be working just fine again.

Zero Punctuation: Cataclysm review

Me thinks he likes Warcraft a bit more than he cares to admit. Quite a funny review.

Jedi mind trick

This is a long and interesting post. *waves hand*

Top 50 programming quotes of all time

Highly amusing and sometimes a little saddening as it’s so true.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the universe trying to build bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

– Rick Cook

Measuring programming progress by lines of code is like measuring aircraft building progress by weight.

– Bill Gates (surprisingly)

I have always wished for my computer to be as easy to use as my telephone; my wish has come true because I can no longer figure out how to use my telephone.

– Bjarne Stroustrup

Sushi from Appie

Albert Heijn even sells stuff like sushi and sashimi these days. Now that’s progress.

Work in progress... not home!
Trying to get all/most of the new code working before I start on the eyecandy.
