Goon City

A giant pixelart project that will continue to grow, using google maps code for navigation around the ‘city’. Check it out, not everything submitted is that creative but there are a lot of funny bits in there.
Looks like the only way you can submit something is through the SA forums, that’s a bit of a shame as I’m sure there are a lot more people out there who would like to contribute.

Google Chrome Beta coming today

Hell officially froze over.

WordPress Theme Directory

So the official WordPress Theme Directory is finally reopened. Yay.
Now it would be nice if the demo / live preview blog showcased all the features that WordPress offers so we can actually see whether the themes support it.
I want to see subpages (and hell, more than 2 pages), I want to see gallery posts, posts with images left, center and right aligned. I want to see comments, gravatars, block quotes, code blocks, everything!

Another candidate for the ‘some day someone will make something useful with java but not today’ award; Enter an url and it’ll parse all the words, filter out a bunch and present you with an image of word ‘art’, which you can then have endless useless fun with, playing around with the settings and mucking about.

Argh, Twitter overload, the Tweets keep coming in from 500+ people and I need some apps to read things more easily.
So here’s a few things I found and will be checking out.

Social Media Love-In

Gotta catch ’em all!
I’m clicking like mad as a result of the ProBlogger Social Media Love-In. Yesterday I’ve been adding a lot of Facebook people, today I added each and everyone’s Twitter, all 538 of them. Thank god for tabs and middle clicking in Firefox.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this ripples out. Already met some interesting people on both FB & Twitter, still have to work my way through the rest, but I’m really looking forward to seeing the impact this is going to have on all our interactions, is it going to make us visit eachother’s sites more, will new projects be started because of this, and so on…
For now I still have a lot of clicking to do, so for all the ProBloggers out there; hi and welcome!

And for anyone new to the party I’ll re-add my links here:

Logos and buttons for newbies

Need a logo or button for your blog or site and don’t know where to begin?
You could do worse than checking out It’s easy and you can come up with something quite nice. Looks like it’s powered by Gimp, if you rather have a standalone program. It’s free.

For extra bored people there is now TwitterVision, I guess it was inevitable after posting about FlickrVision in March, you can now watch ‘live’ what everyone is twittering all around the world.

Work in progress... not home!
Trying to get all/most of the new code working before I start on the eyecandy.
