Final Fantasy X

Miracles do happen. After years and years I’m finally playing a Final Fantasy game. It’s surprisingly fun to play it together, despite everything being quite linear. I don’t think I would call it an RPG so much as an adventure game, but it’s good fun either way.
Who knows, I might become an FF fan after all. ;)

You heathen. Being an admin at FFMO and all. Pssht.
Well, good choice of game line after all :D
If you don’t care about outdated graphics, I’d recommend FF VIII after you finished FF X. It’s imho the best part of the series.
I’ve played Final Fantasy VIII and was totally hooked on it.. lol!
I’ve been a fan of FF ever since.. :)
Or you could try FFXI :3
I’d second trying FF8, if you can get your hands on it.
Whatever you do, don’t get FFX-2. Not even for the lulz. It’s just that bad.
Thanks for the tips, I’m sure more will follow. I do have VIII for the PlayStation, but if I remember correctly I stopped somewhere on disc 2 due to exams at the time and for some reason never got round to continuing. Who knows, maybe after we’ve finished X.
i love final fantasy. im sorta addicted to it… and ya have a great lookin site man.. keep it up!
Yeah, FFX is really linear. I remember being able to walk through nearly the entire game from beginning to end, with an ability that stops random encounters, in about an hour. The story and combat were pretty good though. I liked Blitzball too.
FFXII was the opposite of FFX for me. The combat was okay, the areas were huge and varied, but I didn’t care much for the story. For the first time in an FF game, by the 70 hour mark, I couldn’t tell you what had happened so far. I was just having too much fun killing things.
If you are looking for any other FF recommendations, I choose Final Fantasy Tactics. It has a great story, great turn based strategic gameplay, and tons of tutorials that teach you how to play. It is a little more difficult, but it is my favorite.
I loved playing FF on the Ninty DS for a while. Can’t really remember if they now went multiplatform or just stuck with the Playstation… I should probably try to get all versions from 1 up and play them all ;)
You can play 1 through 6 on the DS, some as DS remakes, some as their GBA version. I’m looking forward to trying out the 3D DS remakes of some of the older ones.
