Think Grave of the fireflies meets Advent Children meets the Matrix meets Schindler’s List and you’re still not halfway close.
It’s hard to explain this movie, except that’s intense, impressive and most definitely memorable.
Watch it.

Saw this movie over a year ago and still love it. It’s so kickarse awesome…I’m sad that whoever it is that now has my copy just seems to not want to give it back though. T_T

I’m thinking possible review…but where would it go, eh??

I thought it was alright. Very Sky Captain-ish in the look, but I felt like the movie, especially near the beginning, was trying to tell too much with all the characters and the setting, and only started hitting its paces in the latter half. Though I think I read something about it being an adaptation of some sort of manga-ish comic or something? Maybe it’s rushed bloated start feeling was a symptom of this adaptation process?
but the ending was pretty likeable

It’s based on the old ’70s anime of the same name.

If there was one thing that poked at me during the entire movie, it’s that the whole thing felt like a giant music video. Then again, Kinriya (who’s also Hikaru Utada’s husband hehe) DID mostly MVs before this…

Whcih brings to mention that if you haven’t heard the OST or “inspired” OST then you should be ashamed of yourself. The “inspired” OST is by far one of the best CDs I’ve ever owned. It has Shiina Ringo, Chihiro Onitsuka, Mondo Grosso….the works. Briliant stuff.

terrible movie. great visuals, but they were overpowering and it really detracted from the whole story. I almost slept threw it.

Story is open for interpretationnn ~(OO~)
The strange special effects mean oftenly, something bizarre or weird or divine intervention and or unexplainable things are happening (~OO)~
It does try to tell too much in beginning, yes and time elapses differently at many parts.
But gotto love the cliche actionnn D:
