Definitely one to watch, JCVD stars Jean-Claude van Damme as himself in what must be one of the most ironic movies ever as the whole thing is part parody/reflection of his own past as a person as well as his career in the shall we say less high profile movies.

The movie tells the story of van Damme going to the post office which gets held up, for which he then gets blamed, and so his day just goes from bad to worse as he tries to make sense of it all and find a way out.
It’s not your average van Damme movie and it’s not your average van Damme either. From a cinematic point of view the whole thing is beautifully filmed and van Damme shines as a serious actor. From the long one shot opening to the confessional, to the not so happy ending it’s original and heartfelt, and especially during the self confession it becomes pretty much impossible to draw a line between Jean-Claude acting and him really needing to get some things of his chest and set the record straight.
Good for him, I still like the guy and if this is a sign of things to come from him then bring it on.
I’ll be watching.
