Faderhead - No FH3

Now this sucks, I was really looking forward to Faderhead’s third cd, but it most likely will never be released.
And why? Because with his 2 first releases, the absolutely brilliant in your face FH1 and bass pumping FH2 the man has earned a grand total of -10000 euros.
Now don’t get me wrong, everyone checks out mp3’s and stuff, and I don’t care if you copy from the big labels, but here’s a good guy making some fucking awesome music and he’s actually losing money doing so.
So if you’ve got it and like it: buy it!
And if you’ve never heard of him, check out the full FH2 on his site or go to his MySpace profile, he’s one of my absolute faves. Oh, and they’re also available in the iTunes store, if you go there check out Vanish from FH1, one of my fave tracks of all time.
Show the guy some love, buy his music.

Jul 10, 2008, 16:19As far as Dance music goes its pretty good (i’m guessing the stream has been compressed a lot, shame i’d like to hear it at full quality.)
The problem is that Dance music isn’t really selling at the moment. Indie rock is still wiping the floor with everything.
Hes also making a bit of a mistake by allowing people to listen to the whole album online. If he wants sales then its far better to stream small samples… I’d guess hes not in it for the money.

Jul 10, 2008, 20:54I suppose people will be happy with the low quality versions and rip them off his site online. People rip stuff off Youtube, and the quality of that is usually terrible =P It’s nice that he trusts people won’t do it, but realistically, they will, and he’s not making it very difficult for them.
Doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not in it for the money. It means he’s respecting his potential fan base by letting them hear the entire thing online before they buy (which may or may not be naive) and people are taking advantage of it.

Jul 10, 2008, 13:20I’m guilty of downloading but I do buy albums I really like the band and think there music is worth paying for. I only ever heard one Faderhead song and I liked what I heard but still. I havent really got the time to listen to them in detail..
