Conned
Written on May 27, 2008 // Happenings.Yesterday on my way home I saw a family of Turkish people in a polish BMW standing by the road signaling for help. I pulled over, they were asking for money because their credit card had gone p00f and they needed money for gas to get home. They gave me some of their gold necklaces and rings and told me they’d pay me back in several days.
I thought fuck the stereotypes and helped them.
Today I come into the office and start telling my colleague. First thing he says; ah no, let me guess, polish car?
Seems to be a trend lately conning dutch idiots out of money that way.
Sometimes stereotypes are true.

May 27, 2008, 12:34Only sometimes? ;) It’s too bad nonetheless that you got conned that way. Can’t you try to sell those jewelry they gave you to a ‘pandjeshuis’ (don’t know the english word for it, pond shop or something?) but I guess the jewelry isn’t worth anything :s
The goodness of your heart can hurt sometimes :(

May 27, 2008, 13:20I’ve been conned before too so I am not too trusting. You did what you felt was right out of the goodness of your heart, as I said last night. It’s unfortunate people like them do scummy shitty things like that. It’s even more frustrating when you realize you have been and can’t do anything about it.
Even if you could (because you did say you got the license plate number), I wouldn’t want you to get involved in their cesspool of loop-holed crime. Nothing good, specifically karma, can come from getting in contact with them again.
Get rid of the jewelry as soon as possible. It felt filthy to touch. Bad auras and vibes. I say don’t take the money from it if you can get any at all.

May 27, 2008, 13:21Btw, I love you because of the goodness in your heart and loving intentions.

May 27, 2008, 14:43Isn’t these car cons known for quite a long while already… o_O
But hey at least you didn’t get the worst type of having more and even armed men appearing from the bushes.
You didn’t already get rid of the jewelry, right?
Also ugh at a certain…

I so liked how you are (^OO)>

Problem is my own experience with certain groups of people. Too many strengthen a negative stereotype, I guess…
I just want to know or understand their thougts, at times…
Go con something else~!

May 27, 2008, 2:13I ish oddly cynical for my age. [Emphasis on for my age.]
I don’t wanna know why/how they tick anymore.
Often, I just want the ‘bad’ people to just stop ticking. x:

May 27, 2008, 2:20It’s a bit of a dilemma though. ‘What if this one group really are genuine and I’m abandoning them completely just because of who they are?’ But being on a motorway, you don’t exactly have time to weigh up the pros and cons before deciding.
That said, I don’t know if I’d have actually pulled over in the first place =P Far too many stories of people pretending to be stranded/injured then a gang comes out the bushes and steals your car.
Are they like the gypsies/pykies over here then? Like, they’re ‘outside the law’ and people that object to them ‘disappear’?

May 27, 2008, 10:36^ The car wasn’t pretty enough for them to steal. So even if there were people in the bushes, they looked at the car and thought to wait for the next person to come on by. Someone with a pretty car that’s past the year make of 2005.
And yeah, I suppose they are like gypsies.

May 27, 2008, 14:33You did a good thing. The baddies were the people that took advantage of your good nature. That’s what ‘gullers’ do. They are evil and force us to be more cynical and skeptical than is good for a happy society.
