And so they were standing outside shouting last friday before ‘the match’ started. The Netherlands - France, and ‘we’ won with 4-1. Crap. After defeating Italy with 3-0. Crap.
This means more soccermania over the next weeks until we finally get kicked out or, god forbid, win. Until that time it’s orange everywhere, annoying music, annoying commercials and orange gimmicks everywhere, and everyone talking about soccer.

The thing I don’t understand is, the rest of our country thinks we from the south are crazy to do a thing called carnaval while they do exactly the crazy things now! Being loud and annoying, drinking a lot and dress up funny. And then the songs they make, it’s all exactly as carnaval. Only difference is, we do this crazy stuff every year! :D
By the way, the craziness is not only for the dutch. Last night there was a lot of noise in our city, apparently it came from Turkish people, they’d won their game. So craziness all around, for that matter.

I happen to like soccer.
But like most things, the whole commercial-shit that surrounds it… makes it annoying.
I like watching a soccer, especially during a European or World Cup.
…and MOST especially when there’s sunny weather, beer, bbq and a match involved.

I just like watching those matches.
So for me, a match is _the_ icing on the cake during a nice bbq with friends.
Now if only the weather would cooperate a bit.

But I did enjoy a little of it.. watching it. Then suddenly, again, the first time we watched a match, they lost. I brought bad luck to them. I bring bad luck to everyone. :(
