Vista sucks, but Windows XP is going to be discontinued as of June 30 2008.
Sign this petition to let Microsoft know we want XP to stick around.

Leopard Server

OS X Leopard server

Here’s a nice article about the server version of Apple’s Os X Leopard, which for some reason is horribly ignored in the media. Maybe it’s a fine example of what’s wrong with Apple, the fanboys are too busy jerking off over the latest iPhone widget or photos of what might be the latest iPod, instead of checking out what, in my opinion, is the most interesting thing Apple has to offer; a user friendly, virtually idiot proof UNIX server operating system that’s up and running in a few mouseclicks and is a dream (supposedly) to manage. And when I read this it sure does sound yummy. The best open source packages, integrated by Apple and managed with a luvly admin GUI instead of having to spend days in man pages editing conf files and getting scripts to talk to eachother. Anyone who ever tried manually assembling a proper ‘nix mail server knows what a pain in the ass that is. Not to mention what a time sink. So yay for Apple. More articles/reviews like this please!

Last.fm frees the music

As of today, you can play full-length tracks and entire albums for free on the Last.fm website (in the US, UK & Germany reads the small print, but still). Quite a big move, and good news for music lovers everywhere.

Amiga goes Asus eee pc and OLPC

Courtesy of Amiga Forever, who have screenshots of the upcoming Amiga Forever 2008 running on both the Asus eee pc and the OLPC. I have no idea what they specifically have planned for the 2008 release but I hope it comes with a bootable stripped down OS so you don’t need to have linux or windows pre-installed. Less overhead.
Looking at the screenshots I have now become interested in the OLPC as it obviously has a higher screen resolution (1200×900). Seeing as the project is meant to bring computers to the less fortunate there’s no way to get one at the moment, you can only donate. But for a while they had an option that if you donated one, you got one yourself as well, which is said to return eventually. Quirky little machine.
