My first HDRi(ish)

I’ll post about the technique later but I just wanted to post it because I like the result, even though it isn’t really HDRi because all the shots taken for this were done from the loose wrist and with different shutter times instead of with different EV.

  1. What’s HDRi? I see a couple faces in that pic… and a hand and a foot!

  2. HDRi will be explained in one of my next posts, and this is the bottom part of a huge statue (for the whole thing I have to add that gallery this weekend as well).

  3. I guess it’s about:
    High Dynamic Range images.

What I vaguely remember of this is that multiple images are taken, every image focuses on another part.
    Example: Something casts a shadow.
Take a picture where the ‘contents’ of the cast shadow can be seen clearly. Next picture make sure the shadow is as dark as hell and all the other lush colors and details are there.
Next step: Roll it into one picture. Detail’r'us by covering the entire ‘range’.
    …or something like that :P

    Nice picture btw!!

  4. I really love it too. *thumbs up*

Work in progress... not home!
Trying to get all/most of the new code working before I start on the eyecandy.
