Back in da house
Written on Oct 28, 2005 // Random.Back from yet another week of training, W2K3 networking services, quite interesting on the one hand, infinitely boring on the other. Gave me plenty of ideas for things I’d like to implement at work so it’s all good I suppose.
Missed an opportunity to tag along with Corvo to Paris alas, due to work busyness, I hope he had fun. Haven’t done much else worth mentioning except hanging out at Commie during the training, a pleasure as always, and spending some weekend evenings boozing with Bres.
Ooh, and I bought a new car, kinda forgot about that for a sec. Didn’t realize it’s been a month since my last entry.
So yeah, the gas prices were bleeding me dry so I had to let go of the bimmer (sniff, sniff) and got a Mitsubishi Galant running on Liquid Petrol Gas instead. A loooot cheaper given the amount of driving I do. It’s a much better ride then I’d expected. 137bhp, not too bad. Unfortunately it came with only 2 shitty speakers in the front and the rear speakers removed. So… I immediately drove to Mediamarkt and got me a nice little set to compensate for the loss of the BMW. JVC mp3 player which takes DVD’s filled to the brim with mp3’s, very yummy, and a sjweet 6 speaker Infinity system. Ofcourse I didn’t think about where I was actually going to mount the damn things until I got back to the car and went ‘eeeeehm’. So it took me a while to make a custom panel to mount all 6 (2 tweeters, 2 midtone drivers and 2 subwoofers, raaawr) on the hat shelf. So that’s 8 speakers in total, still have to replace the 2 front ones some day when I have money…
As for the site and all things internet, lots of things happening and not a damn lot at the same time, but I’ll reserve that for another entry.
I’m currently doing a lot of reading about all things Web 2.0, Ajax, social networking and things like that. Some of it’s promising, but personally I think it’s also another .com bubble shaping up rather nicely.
