Things you should avoid blogging about

That title popped up in my newsfeed… again… it annoyed me.
I know it’s fashionable at the moment to come up with lists of plugins you need to get good seo, lists of popular topics for blogs, lists of things you ‘must’ do to get people to leave comments, but god it’s boring me to death.
After everything else has been monetized they’re now trying to kill the last bastille of freedom of speech by saying what we should or shouldn’t blog about.

Well… blow me. The only thing I’d recommend you don’t blog about is a list of things you should avoid blogging about. It’s pointless.
I absolutely love reading random blogs, and the way they give you a good idea of who the person behind the writing is. The best way to blog in my opinion is to just do it. Write about whatever pops into your mind, whatever happened to you, or whatever your interests are. It’s your blog, do your thing.

  1. True, not everyone will like, what you blog. But you did not blog it for everyone specificly or to make everyone to like it (as if that is possible). Even though the acces is worldwide, it’s you the “consumer/browser” that chooses to read it anyway (>O_o)

I hate certain webcomics, I don’t go and try to make them stop, I just don’t read it any more. It’s not like it’s invading my space like spam.

  2. I blog so everyone will like me. That’s why I put that subliminal word pattern into my “random” blog. Unfortunately the only subliminal message I’m capable of generating is “keep reading the rest of this post.”

  3. I really don’t mind blogging much, I mostly blog about sod all really (mostly random thoughts or lyrics to a song I like most of the time). But it’s commenting on other peoples blogs I find a problem with for some reason, I mostly get stuck on what to say I’m afraid.
