Blog redesign

I’d forgotten how much fun it could be to fiddle with a blog design. Thank you Yichi! It’s a joy to read the code. Real code, instead of messing with widgets that never look quite the way you want. And custom javascript that even I can read and work with, mmm. It’s going to be a work in progress for quite a while as I work my way through the code, add lots of bits and change and replace graphics, but I am SO loving this theme.

  1. I’m loving it.

  2. Aye, it looks good! :D

  3. very spiffy, Bossman! And with an appropriately intimidating sticky too. Awesome.

  4. I was shocked! It’s a pretty good theme though, it’s more “you”. Except when I type letters in this text box they’re squished together.

  5. very nice… starts an itch… need to resist scratching.

And yes the font in the comment text box needs some work…

  6. Frickin’ awesome :)

  7. It’s definitely an eye-catching design and one which I personally like.

However, one minor criticism is that on my 22″ w/s monitor ii is all rather squashed over on the left instead of being centre page.

As this is the only blog I know that displays that way it’s quite disconcerting having to look that far to my left (I use more than one monitor). Maybe it’s a non-issue for other people?

  8. Looking good!

  9. Back to black!

  10. I’m still liking it, the one thing that bugs me at the moment is that I discovered (forgot to bring my macbook’s powerchord to work, so I had to use a normal pc) that in IE6 the header is misaligned and in IE7 the sidebar goes wonky. It looks just fine in Firefox and Safari, but still… it makes me twitch knowing it’s not perfect.

Work in progress... not home!
Trying to get all/most of the new code working before I start on the eyecandy.
