The shape of things to come
Written on Mar 10, 2008 // Site.An old post about what I wanted to change around here which I’ve had in draft for ‘quite’ a while, figured I might as well hit publish:
Move all old content into a new triforce blog. This preserves it and optimizes it for search engines, meaning we’re likely to get more visitors from it (gotta love recycling & optimizing). People will be able to sign up to the blog if they wish to add stuff themselves (like reviews or wallpapers) if they so wish.
And then when everything is moved under this new wing a new section can be opened called everything or so, which shows you all the news from around the site, with some/a lot of icing on the cake which I’ll go into at a later date.
I think I’ll scratch the chat and add a shoutbox to the everything page instead, chat’s been dead for aeons, but a shoutbox could be fun for some quick hellos and how are yous. (thanks Corvo)
All of this will preserve the old stuff but reorganize it and make it more suited for the new internet, easier to update/rearrange and I’ll be able to keep it all together without the ‘ah damn, no one has updated that in years’ being so much of an eye sore as it is now.

Mar 10, 2008, 20:51Question: How would the “siging up to the blog” for submissions work? Would it be the same as registering to have your own blog in the current set up, just with the reviews that you post there being connected to the “main” blog?

Mar 10, 2008, 9:11Nope, it’s a standalone blog, so you would register on it and get an author or editor assigned as role meaning you could add reviews or articles under your own name.
With how I have it in mind it won’t look like a blog, it’s just the vehicle for content management.
But you can still register your own blog under the current setup… hint hint.
