25 Best Gimped images

Written on Jul 13, 2008 // Software.

GIMP is an amazing image editing software that allows people with limitless imagination create extraordinary images out of ordinary photos.

I’m all for Open Source programs, and use a lot of them for just about every aspect of my computing experience, whether that’s professional or in my spare time for my hobbies, but come on… if these are the best 25 pictures Gimp can come up with I’m going to stick with Photoshop…

Some of them look all right but I am going to stick with photoshop as well.

    Well, first of all…
    “Photopshop > Gimp”

However I’m convinced there is much, much better GIMP artwork out there.
Heck.. I’ve done image manipulations on vacation pictures with the GIMP that were more impressive.

But I agree. GIMP is less intuitive and somehow more tedious than Photoshop.

So, my conclusion on this subject:
Want to do some QUICK and DIRTY image manipulation and prefer opensource, then the GIMP is for you.
All other people, go Photoshop ;)

I have to agree, Photoshop is definately the best option, but for people who don’t have the funds to afford Photoshop, then GIMP is a good alternative.

Even if you don’t have the cash for Photoshop, which I can understand, I’m lucky enough to get it from work, everyone can afford Photoshop Elements, and it still beats the crap out of Gimp.

But yeah, I do agree with Corvo in that this is just a poor selection of what someone considers the best of Gimp.
