XGLSo I wrote an entire entry about how XGL is yummy and how my previous attempts failed until I came across BOK’s blog who tried the exact same distros until he was successful with Kororaa. But then WordPress decided to bitch about the fact that I wasn’t using the comp I normally post from and it ate my entire entry. Lovely. So just grab the Kororaa LiveCD if you have an NVidia gfx card, burn it, reboot, and drool.

In other news; my contract expires in 3 weeks. Funness ensues.

  1. Or… try it with the latest Ubuntu flight 5-release

and the Tectonic-article mentioned on my blog-post of March 15th at

I’m now on Ubuntu 6.0.4 with Xgl & Compriz installed AND working on an P4 with ATi Radeon 9600.
Took me less than an hour to install and update – cooked even some macaroni inbetween :-P
This sure is a nice start of my weekend!!

  2. Sounds good..shame I don’t get on with NVidia GFX, I always seem to get slowdown or bus conflicts???

Good news with Ubuntu, quite a good distro but still not really what I want..not games,or pretty desktops..I want heavy duty compilers and c++ editors and debuggers..I’m just like that..

A very nice start to the weekend indeed..

  3. The thing I like about the Kororaa thing also is that it’s Gentoo based, which is about the only distro I’ve never tried yet. I’ll have to try Dapper again though, it’s fun to play with even though I’ll eventually just switch over again when Suse hits gold.

Time to start preparing for the weekend as well. :)

  4. Gentoo is great, I use it on the xbox and I think it’s just the best distro so far…Did you know that a Gentoo is a brand of penguin as well (small and getting more rare every year)

  5. You are all just talking mumbojumbo to me, but what’s up with that contract X?

  6. I’m currently working as a sysadmin, and my current 1 year contract expires the 11th of April.
Let’s just say things are still up in the air.

Work in progress... not home!
Trying to get all/most of the new code working before I start on the eyecandy.
