The weather
How’s the weather?
At work we have to go outside for a smoke, and inevitably people will be walking by all the time. Now for me, a hi will suffice. “Bah, it’s raining, I hate the rain”. Yes thank you Captain Obvious, I can see that quite clearly, and feel it by the water splashing everywhere on me. I know it’s meant well, but it still annoys me at times. Especially when it happens too many times in any one day. But it’s small talk, and a way for people to reach out and connect I suppose.

Rained here all weekend, cleared up today, sunny but cold due to strong winds, better than nothing
Hot, humid, rainy. 95F without factoring in the humidity and whatnot.
Rained yesterday and all day today. Probably why I haven’t had any visitors.

Well, I guess you are right.
On the other hand, half the time the people who ask you how you have been doing are just asking to be polite, they don’t even hear what your answer is. I suppose the same goes for people who talk about the weather ;)

Ow, and yeah, wet and not remotely summer-like
^Most of the people that ask me how I’m doing are doing it to be nosy. They then use the info to formulate the best move in their game of “one-upmanship” that they are trying to play.
Weather……. It is rainy, and not humid. I hate humid days. It literally feels like the world is on your shoulders when they come in my neck of the woods.
