I’m not sure if this is a good idea…

I don’t know much about it other than that it’s supposed to be an mmorpg and have 3 factions. Did see a funny comic about it how it’s another attempt to copy WoW and is therefor doomed to fail but I don’t know if that’s true. Let’s see what happens and if it’ll be any good. And let there be a Mac client!

I’m not so much worried about the game copying WoW (don’t really see that happening right now), but the handling of a lot of things that make the Elder Scrolls series so special leaves me a bit worried. For example the lore and character development. Of course they have to adjust to make an MMO based on the series, but my fear is that it might not feel like an Elder Scrolls game in the end. I hope I’m wrong.

Usually the rpg part gets sacrificed for the mmo, particularly to achieve the massive. So in a way yeah that is the WoW effect. When you see how many rpg components have been taken out or dumbed down over the years just for the sake of mass appeal… Sadness.
But you never know, maybe it’ll be awesome and we’ll all want to play it. Fingers crossed.

This actually looks pretty close to our bed division as well. Just add some remarks on how the actual sleeping zone is still too small ^^

Yeah, it’s 100% accurate for us. Seems like this goes for most people.

Hmm, when your blog is down for a whole week without anyone noticing maybe it’s time to rethink strategies.

I noticed a few days ago but thought if it was serious you might have said something. So I just waited ^^

Usually a big error message and nothing happening is serious. ;p
Turned out to be a quick fix, I just didn’t know that database was corrupted from when my Mini crashed.

          So it wasn’t serious :P

Yeah, but no need for the site to be down for a week.

Funny, for me as well again. But I swear, I was sent to a different page earlier.

There’s a lot of funky javascript going on on this page, so it’s possible that the page wasn’t fully loaded yet when you hit the reply button.

More on topic: I can’t navigate the page the article links to so I’m curious what the fuss is about, in the pic shown they just look like normal girls.

      • Johnny 12:42 on May 3, 2012 Permalink | Reply

If you scroll down the page you’ll see a picture of one of the girls pretty quick. You can enter the gallery by clicking on it. They actually do look like normal girls, only a few teeth of theirs are a little bit out of line. Nothing special (especially not in Japan), but the marketing idea behind the group is.

I thought the girls with brown makeup to the point you’d think they fell asleep on a tanning bed for a week was bad enough. o.O

Nah, it’s just advertisement for these new small Pokémon plushies. We were asked what we’d do with these, if we got one and I said ‘I’d decorate my room with it’. So actually not really special, but funny :D

How collective memory saved lives during the tsunami in Japan:

While I never delved that deep into the topic, I definitely felt that the past and traditions (and with them collective memories) are much more alive in Japan than they are in Germany and probably more European countries. Although, of course, there’s still a huge gap between the big cities and more rural communities. I doubt that in Tokyo many will remember lessons from the big Kanto Earthquake about a 100 years ago.

      • Jos 18:10 on April 4, 2012 Permalink | Reply

Makes sense yeah. It’s a weird concept once you start thinking more and more about it. For example, I’ve been reading an ‘what to do when the shit hits the fan’ book and it’s amazing how much knowledge is in there for basic day to day survival without modern amenities that would be lost on any city dweller (me included). But if you go to a rural area people seem to still be very much aware of things.
