Twitter Tools

Argh, Twitter overload, the Tweets keep coming in from 500+ people and I need some apps to read things more easily.
So here’s a few things I found and will be checking out.

A very nice looking Adobe AIR app, uses its own database to cache everything and make it zippy. Which is nice but I’m tweeting from several locations and on several machines so I don’t know how well that would work.
A Firefox extension that let’s you see and react to all your Twits with 3 tabs for Recent, Replies & Messages. As of now it’s still my weapon of choice, but with the amount of people I’m now following I might need something a bit more extensive.

Twhirl is a desktop client for social software such as Twitter, Friendfeed,, or seesmic. Another Adobe AIR app, looks good.
My Tweeple:
Manage your Twitter people, you can easily see who I’m following and who’s following me.
With a simple click, I can follow, unfollow, or block people, and these changes instantly update Twitter.
Twitter Karma:
Another online tool like My Tweeple that helps you manage your Twitter friends.

TwitThis is an easy way for people to send Twitter messages about your blog post or website. When visitors to your website click on the TwitThis button or link, it takes the URL of the webpage and creates a shorter URL using TinyURL. Then visitors can send this shortened URL and a description of the web page to all of their friends on Twitter.

Import Twitter to FriendFeed: Apparently FriendFeed is being used by a lot of people and this helps you move all your Twitter people over without having to re-add everyone.
EDIT: 10 more Twitter tools

I’m sure there’s a lot more out there, let me know what you use.

  1. You’re not getting any love from your twatter friends or diggers on this blog. What’s up with that?!

I’ve done Digg for about 3 days and I kind of gave up because despite the fact I had over 50 friends. Only 5 – 10 % of them would give me so love on my articles.

Before you ask, yes, I give up easily.

  2. @Humane: Digg seems to be for “inmates” only. Since it seems more about licking someones bottom, it should be named “” instead! ;-)

And as for twitter: it’s major service outage drove met to recently… Twitter has become the victim of it’s own success IMHO.

Work in progress... not home!
Trying to get all/most of the new code working before I start on the eyecandy.
